Basically, you should always keep an eye on your skin yourself – if you notice any changes, they should be examined by a dermatologist. You can use the ABCDE rule as a guide:
In addition to microscope-based skin cancer screening, we also use AI-assisted video dermatoscopy in our Berlin practice. To do this, we use FotoFinder technology, which records the entire surface of your skin (‘total body mapping’) and precisely examines individual moles with the help of reflected light video microscopy. This is all done in a matter of seconds and is, of course, completely painless. Conspicuous areas of skin are magnified by the camera and photographed several times. The images are stored for documentation and analysis and compared using AI. With regular examinations, any changes to your skin are detected quickly and can be treated at an early stage if necessary. This state-of-the-art procedure and regular screening will give you greater peace of mind.
After the examination, we will prepare a report on the pigment spots and discuss it with you. If suspicious pigmentation marks need to be removed, we offer outpatient surgery with the aim of achieving a satisfactory aesthetic result to the highest quality standards.
People who have more than 50 moles, who have had many sunburns or who have a family history of skin cancer should come to our institute in Berlin once a year for a skin cancer screening.
The examination with FotoFinder technology takes about 30 minutes, depending on how many lesions are found on your skin. If any pigment spots need to be removed, the outpatient procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
The exact price of the examination depends on how many moles, pigmentation spots etc. you have, but a full body skin check starts at €149. The cost of outpatient surgery to remove any malignant skin alterations starts at €200.
