Performance Check-up

Gain clarity about your performance potential in just a few hours

Detailed muscle and fitness assessment with
individual training plan – from €890 plus laboratory costs

The AIVA fitness assessment check-up in Berlin is aimed not only at professional athletes, but also at ambitious fitness enthusiasts and anyone who wants to know their performance level and improve it in a targeted manner. VO2Max, which is determined using measurements taken on an ergometer and treadmill, is the most important predictor of general health, life expectancy and quality of life. Based on the results, our experts can help you maximise your VO2Max – one proven method is the five training zone model.

The check-up begins with a comprehensive medical history and examination by your practitioner. In addition, a resting blood pressure measurement, pulse oximetry to determine oxygen saturation and a resting ECG using modern Cardisio vector cardiography are performed at our institute in Berlin.

The performance assessment tests also include bioimpedance analysis, which provides clarity about your individual body composition. In addition to spirometry – the measurement of lung function at rest – the check-up also includes a cardiopulmonary stress test with spiroergometry, including lactate diagnostics. The VNS analysis provides us with information about your vegetative nervous system, as the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems influence heart rate, breathing, blood pressure and organs. In addition, the fitness assessment check-up at our clinic in Berlin includes an ultrasound examination of the heart and aorta, as well as a complete muscle assessment involving a balance test and a check for possible muscle asymmetries using innovative VALD equipment. Finally, you will receive a full report of the findings, including a personalised nutrition and training plan.

Included services at a glance:
  • Consultation with a doctor: comprehensive medical history
  • Extensive physical examination with neurological status

Other Check-Ups at AIVA

Cardiovascular Check-Up

Duration: approx. 3.5 hours

Focus on heart health: We prioritise prevention and recognise that a healthy heart is fundamental to your well-being and longevity. In addition to comprehensive health check-ups and fitness assessments, we also offer special heart care at AIVA in Berlin to identify potential risks early on and develop individual health strategies.

As well as an examination and interview to take your medical history, the cardiovascular check-up includes state-of-the-art cardisiography, which detects even the slightest signs of circulatory and heart rhythm disorders. The services also include Ultrasound imaging of the heart and an analysis of the neck vessels. To assess the resilience of your heart, we perform a stress ECG and observe the heart during physical activity. The check-up also includes VNS analysis and BIA to measure the proportions of muscle mass, body fat and water in the body.

A detailed laboratory examination is available as an option, which includes inflammation values, blood lipids and other relevant parameters. We would be happy to put together a personalised package for you.

Nutrient Check-Up

Duration: approx. 1.5 hours

Our nutrient check-up provides a personalised analysis to help you achieve greater energy and health. Many athletes book this service at AIVA in Berlin alongside fitness assessments. This specialised analysis programme helps you to better understand your body, take better care of it and thus optimise it. The check-up focuses on measuring your basal metabolic rate at rest, which allows us to determine your metabolic type. We analyse your body composition using bioimpedance analysis to assess your physical condition holistically.

All the data collected is used to develop a personalised nutrition and supplement plan tailored to your needs and goals – whether for weight loss or performance enhancement.

  • Anamnesis & medical examination

What are your symptoms and what are your goals? We take the time to conduct a thorough examination and discuss your medical history to ensure that you receive personalised treatment.

  • BIA (Bioelectric Impedance Analysis)

Non-invasive and pain-free: The BIA provides fast and valuable insights into body composition – muscle mass, fat distribution and water content. The results can be used to tailor training, nutrition or health therapy to your specific needs.

  • Cardisiography

This extended resting ECG technique enables highly accurate and reliable diagnosis of circulatory disorders and structural heart problems. As part of the fitness assessment at our institute in Berlin, vector cardiography developed by Cardisio provides more accurate information about heart function than a conventional stress ECG.

  • Complete muscle diagnostics

For a comprehensive fitness assessment, we also conduct intensive muscle diagnostics in Berlin using state-of-the-art equipment from VALD. VALD's ForceFrame and ForceDecks enable meaningful analyses of muscle groups and possible asymmetries. To this end, we perform various movement tests, including jumps, squats and functional tests.

  • Laboratory tests

As part of our fitness assessment, we offer comprehensive laboratory tests at AIVA in Berlin, which often enable us to identify potential health problems before they manifest as symptoms. We tailor our laboratory analyses to your individual goals and needs.

  • Long-term blood pressure measurement

An hour ago, your blood pressure was still within the normal range, but now it is much too high? Fluctuations in blood pressure are normal up to a certain level, but a precise examination is advisable if you notice frequent and severe fluctuations. Long-term blood pressure measurement monitors blood pressure over a period of at least 24 hours.

  • Long-term ECG

While an ECG at our institute in Berlin is a snapshot, a long-term ECG provides information about your heart rate over a longer period of time. We use state-of-the-art equipment from SCHILLER, which not only records atrial fibrillation and other potential risks, but also offers integrated blood pressure measurement.

  • Neurocognition test

This mental performance test is not included in the fitness assessment but can be booked separately at our institute in Berlin if you would like to learn more about your ability to concentrate and the status of your memory. The scientifically based tests provide fascinating results and can reveal any abnormalities.

  • Spiroergometry

One of the most important analyses within fitness assessments at AIVA in Berlin is spiroergometry, which uses the powerful Quark RMR from COSMED to measure energy consumption at rest and under stress. In conjunction with the VO2Max measuring device, maximum oxygen uptake (VO2Max) can also be measured. VO2Max is the most important and meaningful predictor of longevity and general health. According to studies, having an above-average VO2Max not only increases life expectancy, but also improves quality of life, resilience, and mobility. Spiroergometry can be used to determine optimal training zones to help increase VO2Max.

  • Ultrasound examinations

For both medical check-ups and fitness assessments, we use a high-quality ultrasound system from SAMSUNG at our institute in Berlin, which enables reliable diagnostics through precise visualisation.

  • VNS analysis

Thanks to innovative technology from Commit GmbH, we can examine your vegetative nervous system using VNS analysis. While stressful situations activate the sympathetic nervous system, the parasympathetic nervous system promotes regeneration. Special HRV parameters show whether your VNS is in balance.

FAQ About the Fitness Assessment at AIVA in Berlin

  • Is the fitness assessment only useful for athletes?

It is not only sports enthusiasts who benefit from the results of a fitness assessment at our institute in Berlin – the analysis can be useful for anyone who values health and a long life. It shows how resilient the body is under stress. The VO2Max value in particular is an important longevity indicator and can be optimised after the examination.

  • How much does the fitness assessment cost?

We offer our comprehensive fitness check-up for €890, plus laboratory costs. We are happy to tailor the check-up to your individual needs.

  • Is any special preparation necessary?

Ideally, you should prepare for the medical history interview and bring some bullet-point notes about any previous illnesses in your family. On the day of the performance check-up, you should refrain from nicotine, alcohol and coffee, as these substances can affect your blood pressure and heart rate. Please feel free to call us in advance to find out if you need to make any other preparations for the fitness assessment at our facility in Berlin.

  • When will the results be available?

After the fitness check-up, we will have a follow-up consultation with you to discuss the results of the measurements and laboratory tests. In most cases, all findings are available 14 days after the examination.

  • How can I optimise my fitness level?

The results of the fitness assessment provide our specialists in Berlin with valuable, specific information about your health and fitness level. Based on this data, we will develop a personalised strategy for you, including nutritional advice, supplement recommendations and a training plan designed to help you achieve your goals. We are happy to advise and support you throughout this process.

  • Why is the VO2Max value so important?

VO2Max (maximum oxygen uptake during peak performance) is the most important single predictor of general health and longevity. A high value is closely related to resilience, vitality, fitness and a high quality of life. Actively increasing your VO2Max value can significantly reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease. A high VO2Max optimises mitochondrial function, lung capacity, cardiac output and muscle metabolism, making it essential for a long, healthy life.
